Vanilla Cake Recipe


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar


  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the water and vinegar.
  5. Add the water mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  6. Grease a 9-inch cake pan with cooking spray and pour the batter into the pan.
  7. Bake the cake at 350°F (180°C) for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once the cake has cooled, you can store it in an airtight container or use it to make other desserts
