Rosemary Focaccia Bread
Ingredients:
- 4 cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary
- Coarse sea salt, for topping
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Add olive oil and warm water to the bowl, and mix until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
- Punch the dough down, and roll it out into a rectangle that fits the size of your baking sheet.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet, and press your fingers into the dough to create dimples all over the surface.
- Sprinkle the chopped rosemary and coarse sea salt over the dough.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
