Vegetable Steam Momos
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/2 cup finely chopped bell peppers
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt to taste
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add water, a little at a time, and knead until you have a smooth and pliable dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 20 minutes.
- While the dough is resting, make the filling. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cabbage, carrots, onions, bell peppers, cilantro, garlic, and ginger. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are soft and tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt to the vegetables, and stir to combine. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
- After the dough has rested, divide it into small portions and roll each portion into a thin circle. Cut the circle into two halves.
- Take one half of the circle, and wet the edges with water. Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of the circle. Fold the circle in half, pressing the edges together to seal the momo. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
- Place the momos in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam the momos for about 10-12 minutes or until the dough is cooked and the filling is hot.
- Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Enjoya your delicious vegetable momos!
