Eggless omelette


  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped vegetables (e.g. onion, tomato, capsicum, spinach)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil, for cooking


  1. In a mixing bowl, add besan, water, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt. Whisk well to form a smooth batter.
  2. Add finely chopped vegetables to the batter and mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a teaspoon of oil.
  4. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it evenly into a round shape.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, until it turns golden brown.
  6. Flip the omelet and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.
  7. Repeat the process for the remaining batter.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
