Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the vegetable oil, vinegar, vanilla extract, and water.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve the cake as is, or dust with powdered sugar or top with your favorite frosting.
