Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the applesauce and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
